Internal Chassis Clearance: MCK conversion kits are precision-molded around standard, slick-sided handgun frames (such as standard Glock, M&P, or Ruger models without manual safety levers).
Fitment & Operation Blocking: External frame-mounted thumb safeties protrude laterally beyond standard slide/frame dimensions. Placing a manual safety model into the chassis will either prevent the gun from sliding into the internal frame rail or lock the safety in an unusable position.
Rear Door Latching: The rear hatch door of the MCK swings shut directly behind the handgun's grip tang to secure the firearm in place.
Horizontal Clearance Limits: Large grip modules, oversized backstraps, or extended rubberized beaver tails add rearward bulk that blocks the door from swinging fully flush. Forcing the rear hatch door shut over an oversized backstrap will crack the door latches or strip the hinges.
Before seating your pistol into the internal chassis:
Remove Modular Backstraps: If running a Large or Extra-Large factory grip backstrap, swap back to the Small or Medium backstrap (or remove it entirely).
