Glock 26 & 27 MX-1 Frame Adapter Installation Guide

How to Install the MX-1 Frame Adapter on Glock 26 and Glock 27

Because standard factory Glock 26 and Glock 27 subcompact frames lack an accessory mounting rail, the MX-1 Conversion Kit utilizes a specialized clam-shell adapter to establish a rock-solid structural lockup.

Follow this guide to properly mount the subcompact adapter block to your frame.

📦 Hardware Inventory Check

Before beginning assembly, ensure your secondary hardware bag contains the following items:

  • Glock 26/27 Specific Adapter: (The wider of the two included modular adapters).

  • Fastener Set: Three (3) assembly screws and three (3) locking hex nuts.

  • Tooling: One (1) factory-spec Allen key.

🛠️ Step-by-Step Installation Process

🛑 Step 1: Force Clear & Firearm Safety

Before handling your pistol or attempting installation, you must ensure the weapon is completely safe:

  1. Press the magazine release and completely remove the magazine from the grip.

  2. Pull the slide firmly to the rear, lock it open, and visually and physically inspect the chamber to verify no ammunition is present.

  3. Keep all live ammunition entirely separate from your workbench workspace.

🔍 Step 2: Identify and Orient the Components

Take the Glock 26/27 adapter module and separate the two halves. Look inside the interior walls of the polymer wings:

  • Locate the internal stamped markings indicating "LEFT" and "RIGHT".

🧱 Step 3: Align and Attach to the Frame

  1. Take the Left Half of the adapter and align it flush against the left side of your Glock's trigger guard and forward dust cover frame lines.

  2. Snap the Right Half of the adapter directly over the right side of the frame, sandwiching the trigger guard tightly between the two pieces. Press them together firmly until the seams sit flush.

🔩 Step 4: Secure the Assembly Fasteners

  1. Drop one hex nut into its designated hexagonal slot on the side of the adapter housing.

  2. Insert the matching screw from the opposite side.

  3. Use the provided Allen key to tighten the screw into the nut smoothly. Repeat this sequence for all three mounting points.

  4. Tip: Tighten until firmly snug to eliminate handguard play. Do not crank down with extreme force, as over-tightening can crack or strip the polymer threads.

🏁 Step 5: Final Function & Bench Check

Cycle the slide manually several times to verify the adapter halves do not pinch or bind against the frame. Ensure the magazine drops freely and cleanly without snagging against the lower adapter block contours.
