Shooting the META Tactical APEX-Series Carbine Conversion Kit is a total riot! However, if you have never shot a pistol-to-carbine conversion system before, taking the time to properly zero your optic is essential for maximizing your accuracy on the range.
Follow this official guide to configure your length of pull, place your optic correctly, and adjust your point of impact.
To find the perfect optic placement and eye relief, you must first adjust the folding stock to a comfortable position.
The Bicep Measurement Guideline: Place the butt end of the APEX bullpup chassis directly on your bicep. Reach forward and hold the pistol grip with your firing hand, resting your finger comfortably on the trigger.
The 90-Degree Check: Raise the chassis upward toward the ceiling. Adjust the adjustable stock positions until your arm forms a clean 90-degree angle. Your trigger finger should feel natural, relaxed, and entirely free of strain.

Next, mount your red dot or reflex optic onto the top aluminum Picatinny rail.
Where to Mount: Mount the optic in a balanced, comfortable location—neither too far forward nor too far back.
The Sweet Spot: For the APEX bullpup configuration, we highly recommend placing the optic on the rail directly above the pistol grip. Positioning the optic housing between rail slots #10 and #16 provides the ideal eye relief and field of view for most shooters.
Tip: If you prefer utilizing an elevated optic riser for a more upright "heads-up" shooting posture, the overall zeroing process remains exactly the same.
Head out to your local range and set a target at your preferred zero distance (e.g., 15 or 25 yards).
Settled into a stable shooting position, preferably utilizing a bench rest or sandbags to eliminate human error.
Take a slow, steady 3-to-5 shot group while aiming your optic's dot directly at the center bullseye.
Safe the firearm and inspect the target. Record exactly where the bullet holes impacted relative to your point of aim.
Now it's time to adjust your optic dials to align your point of aim with your point of impact. Your goal is to "move" the bullet holes on the target toward the center dot of your optic.
🚨 The Most Common Misconception: A common mistake shooters make is trying to move the visible dot toward the bullet holes, which results in correcting in the wrong direction. The directional arrows stamped on your optic dials ("UP", "DOWN", "LEFT", "RIGHT") indicate the direction you want to move the point of impact (the bullet holes), not the dot itself. For example, spinning your dial toward the "UP" marker physically moves your internal reticle down, forcing you to aim higher and lifting your physical bullet impact point up.
Adjustment Example: If your shot group is hitting low and to the right (in the 4 or 5 o'clock zone), you need to rotate your windage dial toward the "LEFT" indicator and your elevation dial toward the "UP" indicator to walk the bullet holes directly into the bullseye.
Keep It Simple: While you can use math based on your optic's Minute of Angle (MOA) value per click, most shooters find it easiest to spin the dials a few clicks at a time, firing confirmation strings between adjustments.
Repeat this process until your point of aim perfectly matches your point of impact!
