🛑 Issue: Running Out of Elevation Travel at Close Ranges

  • The Problem:
    Shooters sometimes report that they cannot adjust their front sight post or red dot low enough when trying to sight in at very close backyard distances (e.g., 10 to 15 yards), causing the elevation screw to bind.

  • The Reason:
    Because a handgun chassis features a higher mechanical line-of-sight above the bore than a standard pistol, extreme close-range targets force severe tracking angles.

  • The Solution: We strongly recommend sighting in your conversion kit at a distance of
    20+ yards

    Sighting at 20 yards or further gives the ballistics plane room to level out, ensuring your click adjustments fall perfectly within the optic's mechanical range without maxing out the dials.

If you want to line up your mechanical backup iron sights through the glass window of your electronic red dot, you must account for height profiles:

  • The 0.83” Riser Rule: Standard micro red dots sit too low to match the height of pop-up iron sights on a continuous flat rail.

  • Alignment: To achieve an absolute Full Co-Witness, ensure you install the 0.83” optic riser mount
